Hello, I'm Eugen (also known as Tatu Eugen), based in Bucharest, Romania. I'm a longtime Counter-Strike map creator and a web developer.
I began creating maps for Counter-Strike back in 2007, when I launched my first CS server and wanted to make it stand out with custom content. By 2008, I started building more public maps, and between 2008 and 2020, I consistently released new creations for the CS 1.6 community.

One of my signature projects was rebuilding popular maps from CS: Source and CS: Global Offensive into CS 1.6, carefully remaking them from scratch while preserving their essence. I later introduced my own hybrid-style maps, blending elements from multiple CS titles. These maps carried the unique "css_" tag, and many of them remain among the most played on CS 1.6 servers even today.

Beyond my public releases, my overall contribution to the CS mapping scene has been significant. I've developed hundreds of maps for communities, clans, and mapping competitions - over 500 maps for more than 200 different communities. Despite the time and effort, it was never about profit; mapping was, and still is, a passion, not a job.

Some of my most recognized works gained popularity thanks to the technical complexity and visuals inspired by newer games like CS:S and CS:GO, which introduced fresh textures and mechanics into the aging CS 1.6 engine. However, the limitations of the GoldSrc engine eventually made it difficult to push boundaries further. I once planned to create open-world "battle royale"-style maps for CS 1.6, but engine constraints made those ideas impossible to fully realize.
